Design, Hand Lettering & Knitting

I’m a digital designer from Chicago, currently based in California's Bay Area, working to create engaging and impactful digital solutions for clients and their customers. My personal work in design, digital illustration, and hand lettering concentrate most in conveying sentiments that help us to connect through the struggles we face, especially within LGBTQ+ and POC communities.
Since the the start of 2017 until June of 2019, I had served as the Host of CreativeMornings/Chicago, a monthly breakfast lecture series that began in NYC in 2008 and is now in over 200 cities all over the globe and is constantly growing. CreativeMornings gives folks space on one Friday morning each month to connect and engage with other creatives and be inspired by a curated group of speakers.
I’ve been an avid knitter since 2010 and kicked off 2019 by founding my own knitted goods and pattern design shop, JMG Knits.
Past speaking engagements include United Adworkers’ Women in Leadership panel in 2018, AIGA Chicago’s Design Pride: Insights and Experiences panel in 2017, and NIU's Seek Design Conference in 2014. In 2016, I was honored to be featured as Print's Designer of the Week.
